Shhh…Don’t tell… My Beauty Secrets: Coconut Oil

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.” ~Audrey Hepburn

Coconut oil in Nargis' pantry and beauty cabinet!

I’m regularly asked what my beauty secrets are, and I love to share what works for me, if it can help other achieve their beauty/health goals. Often what’s in my pantry is found in my beauty cabinet too! This may sound a little strange at first, but bear with me…

Quote of the day!

Your skin is your largest organ and we feed it from the inside out. When we make poor food choices, many times we witness the detrimental effect it has on our skin, hair and nails. Pimples, blemishes, dry patches, these can all be signs of poor diet, among other things. I’m not going to lie, I have cheat days (or weeks!), but I always come back to being good to myself, with some simple, yet effective, beauty tips. Like with everything in life, balance and moderation are key, so treat yourself, but be good to yourself too!

Organic coconut oil

One must-have wherever I travel is coconut oil. I cook with it, eat it, put it on my skin, use it to help with dental hygiene and gloss up dry hair! I love the brand Dr Bronner’s, when I’m travelling, but basically most pure, organic, cold-pressed coconut oils are a winner.

The health and wellness benefits of coconut oil are now very well-documented, so you don’t just have to take my word for it. Many studies have been carried out and the verdict generally is that it’s quite literally one of the healthiest foods on the planet, due to all the MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) or good fatty acids.
